MissAube, an Inspiring Polymer Artist
We are delighted to introduce MissAube, an exceptional polymer artist who has captured our attention with her talent and passion for craftsmanship. After following her creative journey for a year, we are proud to welcome her as an ambassador for our brand.
“I’m MissAUBE. I’m a Belgian student and a passionate fan of Pin-up fashion. I am trained as an illustrator and 2D animator, and I turn my drawings into figurines made from CERNIT polymer clay, which I sell in small collections at markets, conventions, and more recently on my e-commerce website! My artistic universe is colorful, cute, and atypical, just like my cat Rhapsodie.
For several years, I’ve been using CERNIT for multiple reasons. This polymer clay is manufactured in Belgium, which is perfect for a Belgian like me. Moreover, it offers a wide range of colors and effects, making it ideal for my cute and colorful artistic universe. Finally, it hardly discolors, if at all, on my hands, preventing unwanted color mixes on my figurines.
Our partnership began when the CERNIT team showed interest in my creations shared on Instagram. They sent me a package of CERNIT products. I created many pieces with these materials, leading to collaborative posts. Since then, I’ve been able to create figurines for CERNIT and set up a display on my stand showcasing the raw material I use, allowing visitors to discover it.”
How do I envision my future with polymer clay?
I see it in several ways. I would love for my work to gain more recognition in the field. I put a lot of energy into a true creative process: from sketching to testing before reaching a final result. I’d be tempted to exhibit in an art gallery, even though I know my style might not completely fit.
I will continue creating small collections with CERNIT polymer clay and crafting larger, more impressive personalized figurines.
Finally, I wish to keep sharing my passion with both young and old during family workshops, which began in February 2024. During these workshops, I first create a character or figurine with a specific theme. Together with the participants (individually from 7 years old and in adult-child duos for those under 7), we recreate this same piece during the activity. This allows them to test CERNIT polymer clay, understand my creative process, and who knows, maybe spark a passion in some!”
